It wasn’t less than a surprise for mobile industry when Sony CEO Sir Howard Stringer stated that the company is considering splitting with the partner Ericsson.

In the late ‘90s, both these companies enjoyed moderate success as two different handset makers, but in a joint venture they established a decent business that got enough popularity especially in Europe.

However, in recent times, the company was forced to lower profit expectations apparently promoting a change from the Japanese half.

In an interview with a German newspaper Stringer told that “No doubt, it’s a difficult year but it’s never an easy thing to buyout a partner.” …read the rest of this entry»
