In one of the Ricoh business announcement it was announced that Ricoh is changing the business model for the MDS also known as Managed Document Services. It was further announced that Ricoh will be shifting the business model gears for betterment of the company and the investment will be of $300 million. This will not only help Ricoh to achieve their business targets but also help their customers to improve workflow and increase productivity. Ricoh further revealed that in a research that they conducted with IDC it was found that more and more companies today spend on effective office document management. Angele Boyd, IDC Group Vice President and General Manager of Imaging/Output Document Solutions and SMB also explained that today most companies that spend $250 million on their office document management will be able to save $6 million with the help of Ricoh’s new office document management.
In another research done by Ricoh and IDC together it was found that most companies are already aware of the information and business workflow. However, they don’t know where exactly the problem lies and how they can bring down their overall cost of production. Since Ricoh is already a pioneer in this field they found out that factors like low level of awareness among the executives about office documentation and fragmentation of departments in the company can be the reasons behind it. While announcing Ricoh’s future plans President and CEO of Ricoh, Shiro Kondo said that it will help both Ricoh and its customers to be more productive in the future and to achieve business goals.
