A report from Generator Research shows that Apple mobile phones will outsell Nokia gadgets during the next five year and grab 40% of worldwide market share.
According to Andrew Sheehy, who is head of Generator Research, Apple will develop its iPhone and App Store in same passion as it has developed its platform for digital music that include the iTunes Music Store and the iPod.
The report says that Apple, indeed, has a nice forward-looking roadmap as well as the most excellent platform.
Generator Research thinks that Apple’s iPhone will soon enter the fastest phase of its growth with more than $25b cash reserves and 33 percent gross margins. Currently, most of the established smartphone market players seem to cut back when it comes to product development, contrarily, Apple getting more and more resources, motivation and competencies at that very time.
On many current players the impact would be quite significant, Nokia’s current share of smartphone market may drop from today’s 40% to 20% by 2013.
Sheehy also adds that Apple would also consider utilizing its revenue velocity and financial share to introduce more designs that would address different segments of market and we may see Apple to ship as much as 77m iPhone by the end of 2013.
