Just like many other big players, Intel has also appeared at the Game Developers Conference with something really astounding that seems to convey to the gaming industry that the largest chipmaker of the world is also considering becoming a forceful player in the game industry.

Tom Forsyth, a hardware and software architect at Intel’s Larrabee graphics chip project, revealed some details about the design and features of Larrabee. The chip is expected to hit ATI unit of AMD as well as Nvidia.

No doubt, AMD and Nvidia are quite well-aware of progress that is being made in this connection. Intel will definitely get an inside track of customers because of its lasting relation with various computer manufacturers it will also challenge the graphics duopoly that AMD and Nvidia are enjoying right now.

During the past ten years, Nvidia and AMD have been dominating the graphics chip market and Intel didn’t seem to compete in a discrete or standalone position.

According to Forsyth, “Currently, Intel is not working with a Larrabbee chip and it is being expected late this year or in the early months of the coming year. Many of our key developers are consulting the design of the coming chip, but Intel to offer ways to developers to test their Larrabee chip processors.”

“A C++ model library will be set on the website of the chipmaker, the speed is not like of Larrabee, but it has the similar kind of functionality.”
