It’s an open secret that like Motorola, Sony Ericsson (SE) brand is on decline worldwide and the company is putting its utmost efforts to halt that decline. Now Sony Ericsson has decided to get parent company Sony more involved as it has called in the brand name Bravia.

No doubt, there is a big difference between phone maker and its parent company’s success. Arun Sehti, President of Sony Ericsson India, has announced that Bravia phone will be available in this region soon.

“We have successfully integrated the Bravia brand in the handset business in Japan and soon we will do the same in India,” Sethi stated.

In recent handsets, the Walkman and Cybershot brands have already been leveraged by the company and they were quite successful, particularly, in Europe.Because of India’s rapidly emerging economy, the Bravia bran is being viewed positively and likely to thrive in a market that has millions of new users.

There are rumors that Sony is considering it a mistake to give such valuable brand names to Sony Ericsson. How much successful Bravia proves in the region, only time will tell. Till then wait and see.
