No doubt, Sony’s Vaio P is one of the most highlighted products at Consumer Electric Show and its higher price tag of £850 has become the cause of arousing anger in many Sony fans in the UK.

This anger of Sony fan is intensified by this fact that in the US, the new netbook will be available with the price tag of $899. Sony Vaio representative told in an interview that the Sony would be more laser focused on the consumer in the coming days.

For European Sony fans, the price tag of $899 in the US seem to suggest that Sony Europe math appears somewhat wrong.

In September last year, Mike Abray, who is vice president at Sony Information Technology Products, said in an interview with LaptopMag that Sony was allowing the market pioneers to make mistakes.

After Vaio P announcement at Consumer Electric Show, Abray told: “It wasn’t a respond to the netbook trend, but they are trying to target a kind of high-end customers that don’t even know what netbooks are.”

Abray also added that in the Vaio P, instead of speeds and feeds, the emphasis has been given on how the products would make you feel and look.”

When it was asked about the female-male split for the netbook among the buyers, Abray told that there would be a 60-40 split.
