Originally, DIGIC technology was used on CANON S1 IS, A520 and few other cameras. It contains three individual chips like an image processing IC, a camera control IC and a video processing IC. Then came the DIGIC II processor, with a single chip having design that is more compact, faster processing speed by adding the buffer capacity.
