At last Twitter succeeded to clean the worms that infected lots of users on the site, the worm started to infect users profiles on the weekend as showed some unwanted messages on the accounts of infected users. The worm was created by a Brooklyn resident teenager Michael Mooney to get out of boredom, as he told in an interview with CNET.
But according to the Associated Press, Michael created this worm to promote his own site. In an interview with Twitter Michael said that he wanted to show of some vulnerabilities of the social networking site, but
he couldn’t even imagine that the issue would become so much serious and got so much attention.
The worm enticed users to click on the given to led to rival site of Twitter named StalkDaily.com. The infected users began to send messages to other acquaintances automatically.
In an interview with BBC news, Mikko H Hypponen says that the prolem seemed mto stay on the site but it didn’t cause any harm to your computer and your other information like passwords and other such things were compromised on the site.
Twitter co-founder Biz Stone says in a blog post on Monday, “All the details of this attack are still being reviewed. We are also cleaning up the site and we are on the high alert right now to better coup with any such situation.”
